The National Examination Council (NECO) has officially released the timetable for the November/December 2023 External Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). Candidates gearing up for the exams can now plan their study schedules accordingly. The examination is set to commence on November 20th, 2023, and will run until December 20th, 2023.

Monday 20th Nov.:
- French Paper IV (Oral)
- Arabic Paper IV (Oral) (Actual date and time will be fixed by the Council)
Tuesday 21st Nov.:
- Arabic Paper III (Objective) (1hr 30mins, 2.00 pm – 3.30 pm)
- Arabic Paper II (Essay & Literature) (2hrs, 3.30 pm – 5.30 pm)
Wednesday 22nd Nov.:
- Chemistry Paper I (Alternative to Practical) (2hrs, 2.00 pm – 4.00 pm)
Thursday 23rd Nov.:
- Christian Religious Studies Paper III & II (Objective & Essay) (2hrs 30mins, 2.00 pm – 4.30 pm)
- Islamic Studies Paper III & II (Objective & Essay) (2hrs 30mins, 2.00 pm – 4.30 pm)
…and so on. The timetable spans various subjects such as Literature in English, Financial Accounting, Physics, Biology, Economics, Technical Drawing, Physical Education, Agricultural Science, General Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Commerce, and more.
Important Notes for Candidates:
- Candidates should confirm specific venues for Oral French and Arabic Paper IV from the NECO State Office where they are sitting for the exams.
- Nigerian Languages (Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba) include the Literature aspect.
- Blind candidates are to sit for the examination in their respective NECO State Offices and utilize the supplied Braille.
- Albinos and blind candidates are given an extra 30 minutes across all subjects.
- The use of a scientific calculator is allowed.
Exam Hall Guidelines:
Candidates are reminded not to bring electronic communication gadgets (programmable calculators, mobile phones, iPads, tablets, smartwrist) into the examination hall.
