The university of Ilorin, often known as Unilorin, is a federally owned institution in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria.In August 1975, the federal military government issued a decree that formed it.The establishment sought to carry out one of the Third National Development Plan’s educational mandates, which aimed to increase chances for Nigerians seeking university education and to develop high-level manpower, both of which are critical for the fast expanding economy.

University of Ilorin UNILORIN Admission Requirements
To be admitted to University of Ilorin UNILORIN ,prospective students must meet specific entrance standards.
Undergraduate Admissions Requirements:
- O’level Results: Prospective students must have at least five credit passes in the required courses, including Mathematics and English Language, from no more than two sittings of WAEC, NECO, or GCE.
- JAMB UTME: Prospective students must take the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and achieve the minimal UTME cut-off mark established by JAMB, which is often 180 or 200 depending on the program.
- Prospective students must also take the university’s post-UTME screening exam and achieve the required score to be considered for admission.
- Direct Entry: Candidates seeking admission to the university through the Direct Entry program must have at least Upper Credit or comparable qualifications in relevant disciplines from accredited institutions.
