Bowen University has officially released the Post-UTME screening eligibility and registration details for the 2023/2024 academic session. UTME Admission Requirements:
(a) All applicants must sit for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
(b) Candidates must have credits in at least five (5) subjects at SSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, or approved equivalent, including English Language and four other subjects as specified by each Faculty.
(c) The five credits should be obtained at not more than two sittings.
(d) For Medicine and Surgery (MB; BS), Nursing Science, and Physiotherapy programs, the five credits, including Mathematics and English, must be obtained at only one sitting (NABTEB not acceptable).
(e) Candidates awaiting results are eligible to apply.
(f) All applicants must undergo Bowen University Screening Exercise.
(g) Complete the University Application forms.
(h) Candidates who applied to JAMB for admission and wish to change their institution to Bowen University should: i. Apply for change of institution through JAMB ii. Complete Bowen University Application Form iii. Participate in the Bowen University screening exercise.
Direct Entry Admission Requirements:
- NCE at credit level, ND, and approved equivalents with at least Lower Credit in relevant fields.
- At least two Advanced Level passes at an acceptable grade level.
- IJMB, JUPEB, or Cambridge Moderated School of Basic Studies at acceptable grade levels.
- HND holders may be admitted to 200 Level or 300 Level depending on department/program regulations.
- All direct entry candidates must apply through JAMB.
College of Health Sciences Degree Programs:
- B.Sc. Anatomy (3 or 4 Year Programme)
- B.Sc. Physiology (3 or 4 Year Programme)
- MB;BS. Medicine and Surgery (6 or 7 Year Programme)
- B. N. Sc. Nursing Science (4 or 5 Year Programme)
- B. Physiotherapy (4 or 5 Year Programme)
- B.MLS. Medical Laboratory Sciences (4 or 5 Year Programme)
- B.Sc. Public Health (3 or 4 Year Programme)
Admission Requirements for Health Sciences:
(a) O’ Level Subjects:
- Five O’ Level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- For Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, and Physiotherapy, the five credits must be obtained at one sitting (NABTEB not acceptable).
(b) UTME Subjects:
- English Language, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
(c) Direct Entry:
- Advanced Level GCE/Cambridge/IJMB/JUPEB at an acceptable grade level.
- Candidates with B.Sc. Second Class Upper Division in a related discipline can apply for the MB;BS program.
- Additional requirements as stated in 2(a) above.
