The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) is a federal institution in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State in northeast Nigeria.The federal government of Nigeria established the university in 1975 with the goal of making it one of the country’s leading higher education institutions.
University Of Maiduguri UNIMAID Admission Requirements
To be admitted to University of Maiduguri UNIMAID , prospective students must meet specific entrance standards.
Undergraduate Admissions Requirements:
- O’level Results: Prospective students must have at least five credit passes in the required courses, including Mathematics and English Language, from no more than two sittings of WAEC, NECO, or GCE.
- JAMB UTME: Prospective students must take the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and achieve the minimal UTME cut-off mark established by JAMB, which is often 180 or 200 depending on the program.
- Prospective students must also take the university’s post-UTME screening exam and achieve the required score to be considered for admission.
- Direct Entry: Candidates seeking admission to the university through the Direct Entry program must have at least Upper Credit or comparable qualifications in relevant disciplines from accredited institutions.
Postgraduate Admissions Requirements:
- O’level Results: Prospective students must have at least five credit passes in the required courses, including Mathematics and English Language, from no more than two sittings of WAEC, NECO, or GCE.
- First Degree: Prospective postgraduate students must have a first degree from a recognized university in a relevant field of study with at least a Second Class Lower Division.
- Transcript: Prospective postgraduate students must submit official transcripts from prior universities.
- Entrance Examination:: Prospective postgraduate students must take and pass the university’s postgraduate admission exam
University of Maiduguri UNIMAID Hostel Accommodation
The hostels are available to students at all levels, with the exception of 300-level students who are enrolled in Industrial Training I.T. The UNIMAID management designed the hostel system to be as convenient as possible for all students.
UNIMAID housing hostels fees range from N10,000 to N15,000 for all students. The fee may fluctuate over time.
