The University of Benin is a university owned by the federal government, The university is sponsored and operated by the Nigerian government. The university was founded in 1970. The institution is one of the oldest in Nigeria, with a sizable student and faculty population. University of Benin UNIBEN School Fees
The school fees for returning students of UNIBEN is N170,000(for science students) whereas the non-science students pay the sum of N50,000. While the school fees for new students is N190,000 for science students , and for the non-science students N170,000.
University of Benin UNIBEN Admission Requirements
To be admitted to University of Benin UNIBEN, prospective students must meet specific entrance standards.
Undergraduate Admissions Requirements
- O’level Results: Prospective students must have at least five credit passes in the required courses, including Mathematics and English Language, from no more than two sittings of WAEC, NECO, or GCE.
- JAMB UTME: Prospective students must take the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and achieve the minimal UTME cut-off mark established by JAMB, which is often 180 or 200 depending on the program.
- Prospective students must also take the university’s post-UTME screening exam and achieve the required score to be considered for admission.
- Direct Entry: Candidates seeking admission to the university through the Direct Entry program must have at least Upper Credit or comparable qualifications in relevant disciplines from accredited institutions.
Postgraduate Admissions Requirements:
- O’level Results: Prospective students must have at least five credit passes in the required courses, including Mathematics and English Language, from no more than two sittings of WAEC, NECO, or GCE.
- First Degree: Prospective postgraduate students must have a first degree from a recognized university in a relevant field of study with at least a Second Class Lower Division.
- Transcript: Prospective postgraduate students must submit official transcripts from prior universities.
- Entrance Examination:: Prospective postgraduate students must take and pass the university’s postgraduate admission exam.

UNIBEN, have well equipped hostel accommodation for both the male and female students , it has ceiling fan, cooking space and cupboards , and it is so convenient.
