  1. First Choice Institution: Applicants must have selected YMSUK as their first choice in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

  3. O’Level Requirements: Candidates must possess at least five credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in SSCE or its equivalent, obtained in no more than two sittings.

For Direct Entry Candidates:

  1. Educational Qualifications: Applicants should have obtained a National Diploma (ND), Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) certificate, National Certificate in Education (NCE), or an equivalent qualification.
  2. Minimum Scores:
    • ND Candidates: A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 for science-based programs and 3.5 for arts-based programs.
    • NCE Candidates: At least 9 points for relevant programs in the Faculty of Education.
    • IJMB Candidates: A minimum of 7 points for science programs and 8 points for arts-based programs.

Departmental Cut-off Marks:

YMSUK has set specific cut-off marks for various programs:

  • 220 and above: Medicine & Surgery (MBBS)
  • 180 and above: Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Computer Science, International Studies
  • 170 and above: Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Geography, Biology, Information & Communication Technology, Islamic Studies, History & International Studies, Education Biology, Education Islamic Studies, Library & Information Science
  • 160 and above: Arabic Studies, Chemistry, English Language, History, Entrepreneurship, Hausa, Education Arabic, Education English, Education Economics, Education Mathematics, Education Physics, Education Chemistry, Education Geography, Education History, Mathematics

Application Procedure:

  1. Registration Period: Online registration begins on Wednesday, July 17, 2025, and closes on Wednesday, August 7, 2025, at midnight.
  2. Online Registration: Visit the university’s official website at www.nwu.edu.ng and click on the “2025 Admission Portal” to register for the Post-UTME or DE screening.
  3. Payment: Generate a REMITA payment invoice from the portal and proceed to any bank nationwide to pay a screening fee of Two Thousand Naira (₦2,000.00).
  4. Completion: After payment, return to the portal to complete the registration process and print the acknowledgment slip. This slip must be presented during the screening exercise.
