About The School
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) established the AFIT in 1977 as the NAF Technical and Supply School (TSS) with the assistance of Messrs Dornier GmBH of Germany.
The AFIT was renamed Technical Training Wing in 1979 under the Ground Training Group (GTG). In 1983, the unit was transformed into Technical Training Group (TTG) and renamed 320 TTG in 2000.
The institute has so far graduated over 5,689 persons, including personnel of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy and NAF as well as civilians. It is pertinent to state that this number includes foreign students from the Armed Forces of the Republic of Benin, Zimbabwe, Niger, Ghana and Sierra Leone.
The AFIT has been accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), National Universities Commission (NUC), Council for the Regulation of Engineers in Nigeria (COREN) and Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
School Fees
The School fees ranges from N60,000 to N110,000 for both new and returning students.
The Nigerian Air Force Admission Requirements
To be admitted to The Nigerian Air Force, prospective students must meet specific entrance standards.
Undergraduate Admissions Requirements:
- O’level Results: Prospective students must have at least five credit passes in the required courses, including Mathematics and English Language, from no more than two sittings of WAEC, NECO, or GCE.
- JAMB UTME: Prospective students must take the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and achieve the minimal UTME cut-off mark established by JAMB, which is often 180 or 200 depending on the program.
- Prospective students must also take the university’s post-UTME screening exam and achieve the required score to be considered for admission.
- Direct Entry: Candidates seeking admission to the university through the Direct Entry program must have at least Upper Credit or comparable qualifications in relevant disciplines from accredited institutions.
Postgraduate Admissions Requirements:
- O’level Results: Prospective students must have at least five credit passes in the required courses, including Mathematics and English Language, from no more than two sittings of WAEC, NECO, or GCE.
- First Degree: Prospective postgraduate students must have a first degree from a recognized university in a relevant field of study with at least a Second Class Lower Division.
- Transcript: Prospective postgraduate students must submit official transcripts from prior universities.
- Entrance Examination:: Prospective postgraduate students must take and pass the university’s postgraduate admission exam.
