The Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) has officially announced the commencement of the Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for the 2023/2024 academic session.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the FUTO Post-UTME/DE Screening, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Choose FUTO as their First Choice during the UTME and DE Registration.
- UTME candidates must have a minimum score of 160 and above.
- Possess a minimum of five O’ level credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, at GCE O’Level, WASCE, SSCE, NECO, or approved equivalents, not exceeding two sittings.
- Direct Entry candidates must hold OND/HND/First Degree and A’ Level in relevant disciplines and subjects.
- Candidates must be at least 16 years of age.
FUTO Cut Off Mark
The general Post-UTME cut-off mark for the 2023/2024 academic session is 160. However, some courses may have higher cut-off marks.
Application Fee
The application fee for the FUTO Post UTME/Direct Entry is N2,000.00 (Two Thousand Naira) only. Payment can be made through the ADMISSION PORTAL, with additional bank charges.
How to Apply
- Visit the University website: futo.edu.ng
- Click on “Prospective students.”
- Select the link for “2023/2024 POST-UTME/Direct Entry Application.”
- Enter your JAMB Registration Number to generate the Payment Invoice with the Remita Retrieval Reference Number (RRR).
- Proceed to any Bank with the payment invoice or pay with your ATM Card.
- Return to the Application page and enter your JAMB Registration number again.
- Complete the form, enter your O’Level results, and confirm your entries.
- Submit your application and print out your acknowledgement slip.
Candidates who successfully complete the registration process will be granted access to upload their O’Level credentials for screening.

- The deadline for the online submission of the application form is Tuesday, November 14, 2023.
- Provide accurate information to avoid disqualification.
- The screening exercise will be based on verified JAMB scores and WAEC/GCE/NECO uploaded on JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
- For Direct Entry candidates, ensure that your academic transcript reaches the Registrar, FUTO, on/before the deadline.
