Available Programs:

1. Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) 2. Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.), Master of Agricultural Technology (M. Agric. Tech.), Master of Engineering (M. Eng.), and Master of Technology (M. Tech.) 3. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

Admission Requirements:

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

• A first degree, not lower than Third Class, in the relevant discipline.
• Higher National Diploma (HND) of at least Lower Credit level or its equivalent in the relevant or related discipline.
• Professional qualifications acceptable in the University, such as ACA, AIB, ACCA, ACIS, or equivalent for the Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science only.

Master of Agric. Technology/Master of Engineering/Master of Technology (M. Agric. Tech./M. Eng./M. Tech.)

• A good Bachelors degree of at least Second Class Lower Division from FUTA or other recognized Universities in the appropriate discipline.
• Higher Diploma of at least Lower Credit level, and in addition, the candidate must have a Postgraduate Diploma (at Upper Credit level) in the appropriate discipline.

Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.)

• For M.Phil. in the advertised discipline, a good M. Tech. degree or equivalent is required.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D)

• A good Masters degree in the appropriate discipline with a CGPA of 3.50 and/or 60% minimum average score.
• Any other qualification approved by the Senate.

Duration of Programs:

Postgraduate Diploma Programmes (PGD)

• Full-Time: 18-24 months
• Part-Time: 18-36 months

Masters Programmes (M.Agric.Tech./M.Eng./M.Tech./ Professional Students)

• Full-Time: 18-24 months

M. Phil. Programme

• 18-24 months
• Transfer to Ph.D. program possible after completing coursework and meeting other approved requirements.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Programme

• Full-Time: 36-48 months
• Part-Time: 48-60 months

Application Process:

1. Candidates should apply online on the University’s website http://futa.edu.ng using the REMITA method with payment made to the School of Postgraduate Studies account.
2. Application forms are priced at N20,000.00 (Ph.D), N20,000.00 (Masters), and N20,000.00 (PGD) only.
3. Ph.D candidates should email their Research Proposals to spgsadmissions@futa.edu.ng using the format: surname_school/dept.doc (e.g., Ojo_sos/che.researchproposal)
4. Non–FUTA graduates should print out the Transcript Label attached to the Application Form and request their institutions to forward their official academic transcripts.
