General Requirements for Admission:
To be eligible for admission into any Postgraduate programme at the University of Ilorin, candidates must meet the following general requirements:
- Possess five (5) O/Level Credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, regardless of the chosen course of study.
- Hold a valid NYSC discharge/exemption certificate issued not beyond September 30th of the year it bears.
Specific Programme Requirements:
Postgraduate Diploma:
- A minimum of a Third Class Degree in a related field.
- HND holders with a minimum of Upper Credit from recognized institutions may also be considered.
Master Degree Programmes:
- A First Degree from any recognized university with a grade not lower than Second Class Lower Division (2:2).
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree Programmes:
- A Master’s degree from any recognized university with at least 60% or a CGPA not less than 4.00 on a 5-point scale, or at least 3.50 on a 4-point scale.

Admission Procedure:
- The academic calendar for Postgraduate programmes at the University of Ilorin runs from October 2nd to September 30th.
- Applications are typically open for six weeks, and printed copies of application forms, along with credentials and supporting documents, must be submitted to the PG School within two weeks after the online application closes.
- Qualifying examinations and/or interactive/interview sessions for Master’s and Ph.D. programmes take place in July.
- By the second week of September, successful candidates receive notifications of provisional admission.
